| Customer Reviews: Excellent value for the money!!! May 20, 2010 K. Kenney (Aurora, CO) I am SO pleased with my purchase! The violin was even better than expected. I have never played before (or even picked one up for that matter) so I'm not a pro here, but for 50 bucks and a starter violin? This is great! The case is very nice with a handy sheet music pouch up front and a place to put your rosin (which it comes with). I did have some problems with the pegs slipping which I expected so I pulled out the strings and restrung it myself. Check out youtube to learn this. Another tip for the pegs is to push them in as you turn them, that's pretty much all it took. It's holding a decent tune so far and the sound is lovely! The E string seems a bit scratchy to me but it may be a tuning issue or I may just go pick up some new strings. But still...I am very excited to pursue this and I feel that I got a good quality starter instrument for a great price. Highly recommend for beginners!!
Cheap, but you get what you pay for May 17, 2010 Breann Davis Overall, this violin is very nice visually. The tone actually isn't half bad. The pegs slip very easy and it is hard to keep in tune.

I have had this violin for a few weeks now. The first time I tried to tune it I found the pegs had no grip. My instructor had me sand them and use liquid "peg dope" to get them to stay in place. It has been much easier to tune the instrument since. The violin seems to be taking a while to break in. The sound is good enough for me at this point as I am a beginner. This was a very good deal and I feel I can use it for at least my first year, as long as I stick with it. Also, it is a pretty instrument.
