Product Description This violin is perfect for the student musician. It features hand carved solid maple back and sides, hand-carved solid spruce top, beautiful inlaid purfling, varnish finish, rosewood pegs, chin rest, tailpiece and fingerboard. Has features found in much more expensive violins. It comes with alloy tailpiece and 4 built-in fine tuners. The brazilwood bow features rosewood frog and unbleached genuine Mongolian horsehair. The included case is a light weight form fitting hard case with pockets and strap. This makes it convenient to carry to school or orchestra. It also comes with the following accessories: extra set of violin strings, violin bridge and a quality rosin cake. It has all the accessories needed to start enjoying this great violin. The included accessories alone retail for more than $60. This makes the violin kit an unbeatable value. Buy with confidence as it comes with a one year warranty against any manufacturing defects. Grab it while this price lasts!

| Customer Reviews: It's a great value, but... March 24, 2010 Tara Holder 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This violin is a great value- not too expensive or anything, overall pretty well made.
However, it has it's downsides.
Mine won't stay tuned for anything. The peg for the G string comes loose when I try to tighten it so the tension isn't retained in the string. Also, it is VERY squeaky starting out. This could be because I've been out of practice for a while, but I'd recommend getting better rosin that what comes with it.
Other than that, it's a pretty good little violin.
It sure looks pretty, BUT... December 3, 2006 S. Paquin (Woodbine, GA) 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
I purchased this for my son to begin violin lessons. When it arrived, it was not set up. If you don't know how to set it up yourself, it can cost around $80 to have a pro do it for you. My sons violin teacher kept it for a week trying to get it tuned. He couldn't do it. He said that once he gets 3 strings tuned in, then the 4th goes out. He hated to admit it to me, but he said that it was just a poor quality violin.
He recommended a Suzuki beginners violin. I returned my Cecilio and got a Suzuki. Wow! What a difference! It arrived set up, and tuned. The quality was obvious. My sons teacher was very pleased! Check out the Suzuki's!

This is a beautiful violin. My daughter's violin teacher said " This is a nice little instrument for a beginner." It is definitly priced right.
Unfortunatly, I bought the wrong size. I thought I needed a 3/4, but it is too big for my small 9 year old. She struggled until I got her a 1/2 size. Now she is doing much better. The right size instrument is crucial!
