It's ok August 28, 2010 C. Robles It's a pretty decent item. The legs of mine tend to fold without resistance, making it difficult to place on the instrument at times. Also, one of the legs totally snapped off when tightening the legs. I got it back in, but yeah....
Didn't work for my long neck... August 16, 2010 Christopher D. Williams (Oakdale, MN United States) I have a longer neck, and the Kun simply can't get tall enough to make playing comfortable for me. It just doesn't extend to a very tall height. I ended up going with a Bon Musica. This Kun seemed pretty well made and reasonable priced. I'd recommend trying all of the available shoulder rests out at a shop before buying one online. The fit is just so personal to each individual person.
Kun shoulder rest August 2, 2010 Jake Wakeson Works great! Has some weird discoloring on the underside, but who cares? You can't see it anyway!
The best for the price July 26, 2010 Gabriel Siqueira (Rio de Janeiro, RJ Brazil) I've been playing the violin for 7 years and I've already used several shoulder rests. This one is exceptionally softer than the others, what makes it much more comfortable. It's easy to ajust to every violin and also has a great look. I just don't like the material but, for this price, I can't really complain.
Great pick !
Solid, Functional, Comfortable = A Good Shoulder Rest June 29, 2010 Engineering Student 314 - Phillip (Ohio - USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Kun is a big name in violin shoulder rests as far as I am aware, and this shoulder rest proves why. It is relatively inexpensive, it looks nice, and it works. There may be better should rests out on the market (the one I initially tried my violin on was really nice, but I haven't been able to discover what it was or how much it costs). The part which sits upon the shoulder is nice and comfortable, a soft synthetic-polymeric material of some kind (kind of reminds me of a dense foam of some kind). The part which supports the violin has a a thick, tough yet soft set of "arms" to firmly hold the violin without any slipping. They fold down, which is nice for putting inside a small pocket within a violin case. The height of each of the violin supports is adjusted by a simply turning them clockwise or counterclockwise, thereby raising or lowering them via a screw-action. Overall, it works and I haven't encountered any problems with it. The build quality appears good, and it is as aesthetically pleasing as a shoulder rest can get, in my opinion. I'm very happy with my purchase!
